I am a retired, licensed Speech and Language Pathologist, University Clinical Supervisor and Educator, with a background in Science, Foreign Languages, Education, and Communication. As a Speech and Language Pathologist I specialized in the treatment of Schoolage Speech and Language Disorders, Autism Spectrum and other Social Pragmatic Language Disorders, and Stuttering. I bring two decades of experience working with individuals with learning and communication challenges to my practice as an energy healer.

I studied and became certified as a ThetaHealer, a meditative form of spiritual energy healing, after experiencing its effectiveness as a healing modality in my own life.

I first encountered energy medicine when I received a spiritual healing from a friend. Shortly thereafter, Dr. John Strachs, MD, of the Osher Center for Integrative Medicine at Northwestern University recommended acupuncture treatment, another form of energy healing, for my chronic illness, explaining to my husband and me that, “while in the Western Medical Tradition we are not able to explain why it works, thousands of years of successful practice has shown that acupuncture is effective as a healing modality."

A month after the spiritual healing session and three weeks of acupuncture treatments, I experienced a major shift in my illness, energy levels, and well-being. I decided to learn more about energy healing and how I could continue to use it to support the healing that was taking place in my body.

There are many types of energy healing available to people support their physical, spiritual and emotional healing and well-being. Meditation, Yoga, Tai Chi, are some commonly practiced forms.

ThetaHealing, the form of energy healing that I practice, is intended to support and compliment traditional western medicine and other evidence based therapies - not to be a replacement or alternative to them.

It is my hope that by sharing my experience, others will be encouraged to embark upon or continue their own healing journey.

Most experts in healthcare today recognize that healing is a multidimensional process involving mind, body and spirit. Research on placebo effect has shown that belief, too, plays a significant role in healing.

Using energy is one way we can support healing. Energy is a part of what we are. We are organized matter and energy. Energy powers us and helps our body, mind, and spirit to heal. Using energy to heal happens when we feel uplifted by listening to a favorite song; when we engage in a spiritual or religious practice that supports and sustains us; when someone gives us a compliment that makes us feel good; when we cry tears of sorrow after a loss or disappointment and feel better afterwards; when we watch a movie that makes us laugh; when we think about all the things that are great in our life and feel gratitude and joy; when our partner enfolds us in their arms to give us comfort. When we are able to lower our blood pressure and calm our thoughts and emotions through meditation and when we reduce chronic pain through the practice of Tai Chi or Yoga, we are engaging in energy healing.

I practice energy healing as a complimentary healing modality. As a Speech and Language Pathologist I believe in evidence based practice. My energy healing work is intended to support conventional medicine, evidence based therapies, and other healing modalities.

Energy healing is well known for its use as a modality to help people identify and change subconscious limiting beliefs, perceptions, and thinking and to assist in resolving and releasing emotional pain and trauma. We have seen that subconscious programs and beliefs that are holding people back can be reprogrammed to empower people to realize their full potential and become healthier, happier, and more effective in their relationships.
